St Marks in the Wet

I havent been to St Marks for many years, but my visit lives on in my memory. Not least because I am a huge fan of the Comissario Brunetti novels by Donna Leon - these are set in Venice (where she lived for many years), and there is often reference to 'aqua alta', when the square gets flooded.
