The paintings below have either sold or are not for sale, but I thought I'd include them in the Gallery as they provide a wider array of my work to date.

Wallflowers

In my rural part of Tuscany, dry stone walls abound, and growing from the top of them, at the bottom of them, and even through the cracks are wonderful wildflowers of every shape and colour.

Summer at the Seaside

Childhood holiday memories... rock pools and soggy seaweed... when the sky was always blue and the sun was always shining!!!

Rhino on the Rampage

Many years ago I lived in Kenya, and was lucky enough to see the last four Northern White Rhinos along with their ranger friends wandering freely in a game park. That experience had a profound effect on me, and recently I felt the urge to paint some of the wonderful creatures. Rhinos are generally quite gentle animals, but this one is on the rampage, which happens from time to time. White rhinos are not actually white - the name is believed to arise from a corruption of the german word for wide; these wide mouthed rhinos graze on the grass, as opposed to black rhinos who have a more pointed mouth, and browse on trees.

Fifi

My beautiful, precious little old lady who sadly passed away in 2025. Her proper name was Fiorellina (Little Flower), but she was always known as Fifi.

Cortona Silhouette

In the UK it is generally reckoned that Autumn is the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, but in Cortona the fogs generally come in November. They lift and sink hour by hour, and lower in the valley they can linger all day; even in Cortona itself you may not see the sun for several days at a time. This painting was created from one of my photographs, taken on one such misty morn.

Burning Bright

I have never been lucky enough to see a tiger in the wild; even just in photos they are so amazingly beautiful. Sadly though, like so many other animals, they are endangered. I copied parts of maps onto fine tissue paper then decoupaged them onto the background I had already painted. I did the same with the verses of the famous poem by William Blake.

My Boy Busta

I was working as a volunteer at our local stray dogs kennels, and I was forced to adopt him when he was less than three weeks old because he was going to die, as his mother didn't have enough milk. He steals food, doesn't always smell great - and i adore him. My first, of what has become four!!!

Dragonfly

A semi abstract playing with beautiful transparency of the dragonflies that hover in my garden.

Grazing Giraffes

Many years ago, when I was living in Kenya, we were camping in one of the game parks, and started a game of Frisbee. There were some giraffes not too far away - they were clearly fascinated, and approached nearer and nearer, until we were almost throwing around them. Such gentle inquisitive creatures, and what a treat for us.

Trasimeno Twitter

A tranquil waterscape at dawn, with seabirds perched on weathered wooden posts, their reflections shimmering in soft pastel light.

Lounging Lizard

In my garden lizards come popping out of every nook and cranny, and scuttling in and around the dry-stone walls. They are fascinating creatures, coming in a variety of colors and sizes; this one posed for me as he basked in the sun; the challenge was to capture his scaliness, but with subtlety.
