Rhino on the Rampage 26x36cm SOLD
£345.00
Many years ago I lived in Kenya, and was lucky enough to see the last four Northern White Rhinos along with their ranger friends wandering freely in a game park. That experience had a profound effect on me, and recently I felt the urge to paint some of the wonderful creatures. Rhinos are generally quite gentle animals, but this one is on the rampage, which happens from time to time. White rhinos are not actually white - the name is believed to arise from a corruption of the german word for wide; these wide mouthed rhinos graze on the grass, as opposed to black rhinos who have a more pointed mouth, and browse on trees.
